DESCRIPTION

SOL Sorbitan tristearate is produced by the esterification of Sorbitol with commercial Stearic acid derived. It is a light cream powder with a slight characteristic odor and bland taste. The product is USP complaint.

STS functions as an antiblooming agent in chocolate and an anticrystallization agent in oils, helping maintain a smoother, more stable fat structure that resists the visible white or grey bloom that can develop on chocolate surfaces over time.

Beyond chocolate, STS is used as an antisandiness agent in margarines, helping prevent the gritty crystalline texture that can otherwise develop, in addition to select cosmetic applications.
